Creating outdoor spaces that are both beautiful and functional.
About the Partners
Kathryn Everett, Janet Conroy, and Tomi Landis met while pursuing post graduate degrees in Landscape Design and Sustainable Landscape Design at George Washington University. While each formed their own companies following graduation, they kept in touch and consulted on projects before formalizing their partnership with Everett Conroy Landis Garden Design.
Kathryn began her advertising career as an Account Supervisor in the agency business, planning and executing ad campaigns. While raising her kids, she became a Master Gardener and pursued her graduate degree at GWU. As principal and owner of Everett Garden Designs for more than ten years, the native Virginian found her calling in designing and building gardens. She and her husband also own and run Chancellors Rock Farm in Flint Hill, VA, which sustainably grows produce, cut flowers, eggs, grass-fed beef, and pasture-raised pork for Fabio Trabocchi’s Fiola Restaurant.
Janet Conroy’s interest in fine art and sales led her to a 20-year career in advertising and publishing after earning degrees in biology and illustration from the University of Rhode Island and RISD. While pursuing her Master’s degree in Sustainable Landscape Design, she was a member of the award-winning design team for the University’s entry in the 2013 Solar Decathlon competition. Her artful drawings and presentation skills help capture the essence of the firms’ designs.
Following her graduation from UCLA and first career as an Emmy award-winning television producer, Tomi Landis pursued her Master’s in Sustainable Landscape Design, and began her firm creating urban garden spaces. She emphasizes eco healthy landscapes by combining native plants with stormwater design. As a native Californian, she favors the clean lines of modern and minimalist landscapes while respecting water's role and reason in the environment.
